The whole experience is:
example.test
, you register for example.com
domainexample.com
, you see no warningWhat about multiple domains? We have a case where different languages of the same site are served from different domains. If we add a textfield for the language, maybe allow us to specify multiple domains (like: separated by comma). This way the check could also work for domains like example.test
or example.wip.agencyname.com
One of the main reasons why I hide the registration button via CSS. In 95% of all cases we develop on a subdomain and the constant questions from customers annoy why it is an unregistered version. In most cases, however, the later main domain is already known, so it would make sense to enter it so that the hint changes from there.
Would it be possible to change the copy to “This is a development install of Kirby” when serving from localhost? It happens so often that I register my localhost because I think I forgot to upload the license.
Having an additional setting in the license manager to setup a develop domain for an install would also be interesting, like registering a site for example.com
but also specifying redesign.example.com
as interims domain for development. We had the situation where we had to register a subdomain for a new site because the client was asking why it was displaying as unregistered although they paid for a license and then we forgot to change the registration on launch day and the message popped up again when moving to the final domain. This can be quite embarrassing …
