Users should be able to reset their own password for the Panel when they forgot it.
Can we also ask to have a way to customise the reset email? Also, could we have a confirmation email for new accounts, so users can have an email record of it?
Are you suggesting to send them their password via email when registering?
It would be great to be able to (optionally?) enforce that users change/create their password on first login. This would reduce the risk from initial passwords being sent around by e-mail. I believe Wordpress works like that: on creating a new account, the user receives a link that leads them to a page where they create their password. (This could of course also be an idea for a plugin, if too complex for core?)
Hope we can change the default email text.
Yes, definitely!
I’d love to see a clear distinction between the frontend and the backend of this feature, so it could also be used from the frontend, if a site requires frontend-only users. Having a secure backend for this would make the implementation of such a feature way easier (I’m currently working on a project, that requires this).
@Fabian We will make sure that the logic behind this feature can be accessed from PHP. :)
I thought that you have already implemented this feature with the 3rd version. Why did you put /kirby/src/Email/PHPMailer.php
into core then?
